Foresteria Monforte

Strange as it may seem, especially given Milan's status of an international fashion and design Mecca, stylish B&B are quite a rarity there. Yet Foresteria Monforte definitely is one of them! The small, 3-room lodging is settled in a typical Milanese apartment with its hallway leading to each of the rooms. If you are travelling with children, the best option would be a suit consisting of a bedroom and a small living room with a sofa that can easily be transformed into a bed for sleeping. Each apartment has a small balcony as well. Slightly squeaking parquet floors are part of its charm, the same way as echo of the city noises, reaching into the rooms. At any rate, it's perfectly cozy and comfy there, with a pleasant private touch. You even get a set of your own keys, including the one from the gate, which makes it feel like returning at your own home in the evening! Breakfast is included while in the evening, upon an arrangement with the hosts, you cook a dinner for yourself at the communal kitchen. Rooms feature a fusion of antique and contemporary design, e.g., a flea market Bidermeier alongside with Philippe Starck's Kartell chairs, Artemide lamps, etc. Both comfort and modesty are typical there. A bathroom boasts Bisazza tiles, and somewhat smallish and outworn towels are the only drawback to be mentioned.
