Latvian Museum of Naïve Art

Latvian Museum of Naïve Art, a charming place to escape from the ostentation and cynicism of our day. The paintings, drawings, and sculptures in this museum are brimming with good-natured humour and positive emotions. Some have thinly masked erotic fantasies, others display religious and mystical motifs, but all are somehow moving in their childish simplicity and straightforwardness.
For the authors of these unpretentious works, art is simply a hobby. They have no desire to confront, shock, or surprise the viewer, to show off their uniqueness and special status. Rather, they would just like to create "something nice, pleasant, and beautiful."
