Museum of Decorative Arts and Design

The 1989-founded museum features works of professional Latvian decorative and applied arts dating since the late 1800s. The museum takes special pride in its collection of works by the artists of the Baltars porcelain painting workshop (1924-1928). The museum is housed in the converted premises of the former St George's Church (1204), the oldest surviving stone building in Riga. The white dolomite walls and the ancient 17th century wood constructions are still part of the interior.
