TAKA cultural café
Author: Anothertravelguide.com0 COMMENTS
TAKA doubles as both a café and house of culture, where poetry readings, concerts, exhibitions and theatre performances are regularly held, with the participation of both local and foreign artists. The unusual décor consists of animal heads made of construction foam, black ceilings, blue-green-pink walls and fibreglass baths that have been sawed in half to serve as chairs. The menu is very kind to vegetarians, featuring local products wherever possible. Even the house wine is from Latvia, a rarity in a country where grapes are not widely grown.
