Hobbywool

Author: Anothertravelguide.com0 COMMENTS

Hobbywool is the Shangri-La for knitters. Everything in this store is one-of-a-kind, unique, natural and made by hand and with love. Like a child in a candy store, knitters may become confused by all the colourful, soft yarns on the store's shelves. Hobbywool also sells many types of pretty knitting needles, inspiring knitters to knit a chain all the way to the next town.
Hobbywool is located in the cool rooms of a 17th century masonry building in Old Riga that was once a parsonage. Enter the store either from Mazā Pils iela or through the ancient courtyard abutting the back of Sv. Jēkabs Cathedral. The atmosphere in the store is decidedly romantic and, when entering the store, be prepared to succumb to the enchantment of knit and purl.
