Poniu Laime

Poniu Laime, the hands-down best cafe/bakery in Old Town, is located in the historic Jewish quarter, directly opposite the five-star Stikliai Hotel. The area was once home to a Jewish community that had come to Vilnius from Germany and Bohemia, bringing with them the secrets of the glass blowing trade. To this day the street is called Stikliu Gatve, meaning “glass avenue”. Mounds of sweetly delicious pastries line the shelves of this charming cafe, and the tartelettes and macaroons are filled with fresh berries from the owner's own garden – so if you're going to sin, at least you'll be doing it as healthily as possible!
