The Dylan
Author: Anothertravelguide.com0 COMMENTS
An Amsterdam style hotel, perhaps best remembered as Blakes, the younger sibling of the legendary London Blakes Hotel designed by Anouska Hempel. Those were the good old days when this was the perfect spot for a Sunday brunch. Since 2004 the hotel is owned by the Stein chain of hotels and has been renamed as Dylan. Although Sunday brunch is not served here anymore and the interior has been somewhat redesigned, the Dylan has retained all of the Blakes old charm. The 17th century canal-side building was originally built as a theatre and later came to house a Catholic orphanage and a charity. It's worth going over for a cocktail if you are not staying there, but those who are have the excellent opportunity to tour Amsterdam on the special Dylan bicycles. There are 33 rooms and 8 suites in the hotel.
