Envy

An excellent fusion-style restaurant with equally excellent location, De Negens Straatijes or "neighbourhood of the nine streets". It is tall, sleek and trim like a super model and practises the principle of the open kitchen. The kitchen area (stretching the full length of the restaurant with 26 fridges as an element of the décor) is so close to the diners that not a single movement by a chef stays hidden from the eyes of the customers: a great show in the kitchen and on the plate. An excellent choice of cheeses and wines. Envy shares its owners with Supperclub, a nightclub recently hailed as the most stylish in Amsterdam. Advance booking is a must.
The chef's special five course menu: EUR 50.
