Magazyn Praga

It is a great place to go if you wish to explore the current trends and the most artistic expressions of the Polish design. Magazyn Praga is a shop-gallery, and its location is just as colorful as its contents. The shop is set in one of the blocks of the former Koneser Vodka Factory, built in 1897, now housing a variety of cultural projects. While fully preserving its industrial interior, the space is perfectly adjusted to its current needs. The display is like a perfectly arranged exhibition - each item has its own individual character, and nothing has landed there just by chance. Side by side with Polish design, it presents what's fresh and trendy on the European design scene, covering a wide range from Scandinavians to Czechs.

There are new names and already well-established ones, mass production and unique design objects, furniture dating from the 50s, 60s and 70s of the last century, witty knickknacks and things worth hefty investments. Functional, decorative and just wacky things. Furniture and lamps, earthenware and glass, teapots and carpets. A gun-shape ruler and a crimson clothes hanger that looks like a miniature Palace of Culture and Science - a well-known symbol of the city and a marvel of Stalinist architecture; a white vase shaped like a big Wellington boot; glass that resembles plastic and other strange and useful things. The skillfully arranged display is regularly changed and supplemented.
