The National Center for Contemporary Arts NCCA was founded in 1992, the time when contemporary art just started to gain its positions in the country, and therefore has a major role on the Russian art scene. Currently, the endeavours of its museum, exhibition halls and research organizations are aimed at determining the role and direction of Russian contemporary art within the global art context.
