Soho Rooms

After closure of the Moscow's most popular nightclub Diaghilev, Soho Rooms seem to have picked up the title of the hot spot of the city. Not for nothing it's been already visited by such celebs like Lucia Liu and Marat Safin. Although perhaps it's too early to judge - the much talked about place, officially opened only on the New Year's Eve 2008/2009, has still to prove its potential. It is not so easy, however, to get a firsthand opinion of the place. Entrance to the restaurant-bar-nightclub, located in the former silk factory premises, is tightly guarded, and only your name being on the guest list will undo the door. Or else, knowing the right people can do the trick. Otherwise, the stern looking guys at the entrance will simply ignore you - an impenetrable face control, so to say. And no wonder, considering that special VIP seats above the dancing floor costs "mere" 12 000 euro.
The ultra-exclusive project is the brainchild of no one else but the longtime owner of Garage, Dmitriy Braude, and just another proof of Moscow's unlimited ambitions. The place spans several floors and comprises a restaurant, a lounge hall, a bar, a night club and two roof-top swimming pools. And indeed, who wouldn't wish to seek some refreshment after sizzling dancing session?! Crystal chandeliers, leather sofas, marble, onyx bar, exquisite paintwork, fire places, wood-paneled ceilings, stunning laser lights and spiral stairs leading to the roof-top terrace. Even bare brick walls or stylized wall-papers seem to have cost millions - anything cheaper simply wouldn't fit in there. Over and above, its fusion cuisine is supervised by the US White House and Asian chefs. Soho Rooms splurge with futuristic and somewhat chaotic chic, yet it doesn't fail to impress.
