Mansarda

The new Ginza Project restaurant, sited in an ancient St. Petersburg post office building and a short way from the famous sacral monument - St. Isaac's cathedral, is definitely worth a visit. A façade of the historical Pochtamtskaja street building is seamlessly fused with a gleaming jewel of contemporary architecture - a glass wonder, created by Italian PiuArch studio, which is mostly known by its work with Dolce&Gabbana fashion house in Milan. The glass-covered mansard houses the restaurant and has prompted its name as well. Its glass walls offer a fantastic view of St. Isaac's cathedral. Even though Mansarda offers vast varieties of international cuisine, the fact alone that you are in the very heart of St. Petersburg with your eyes lingering at the sleek domes of St. Isaac's cathedral, adorned in glittering gold, compels a choice of an authentic Russian meal. Especially so because you aren't going to trace even a tiny Slavic ornament in this masterpiece of western style architectural design - only pure lines of timber and glass that, speaking in terms of international interior design, represents the latest achievements in technologies and urban comfort.
The restaurant is suitable both for lunch and for dinner.
