Hotel Do: Placa Reial

Hotel Do: Plaça Reial seems like the very representation of fine wine, embodied in stone and concrete. The small hotel has only 18 guestrooms, and its owners have once been related to fashion and textile business, while DO in its name refers to the Spanish symbol of quality - Denominación de Origen, traditionally granted not only to fine wines but also other excellent local products, such as cheese, honey, meat, etc. It is housed in a historic neoclassical building from 1856 and faces one of the city's most beautiful squares - Plaça Reial that was built in the 19th century. The hotel's interior features qualities of superb red wine with its rich and saturated bouquet. Well-preserved historic wooden beams and other details are replenished with tasteful and carefully selected elements of modern design and artwork. Moreover, almost every guestroom there is a "room with a view". Barcelona has never been rich in small and charming hotels and Hotel Do can be considered to be one of the first precedents in this respect. The hotel's restaurant offers delicious Mediterranean cuisine, made from local and seasonal produce, but its café La Terrasa, enclosed by ancient columns, has become a favorite tapa place for the locals. If you happen to be in this part of the city, do not miss a chance of having a lunch there because, after all, the full name of the place is Boutique Gastronomic Hotel Do: Plaça Reial. It's inspired by the best Catalan cooking traditions, and food is delicious there!
