- The airport is 15 km or 20-40 minute drive from the city centre, depending on the traffic. A taxi will cost you approximately EUR 18-25.
- The most snobbish part of the city, the district of luxury shopping and expensive dining, is Salamanca. Chueca, on the other hand, is best for alternative little stores, second-hand shops and cool bars; this neighbourhood used to be known as a gay district but has evolved into a Mecca for trendy types of all persuasions.

- Paseo del Arte is an entrance card for three of the most influential museums in Madrid: Prado, Centro de Arte Reina Sofía and Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza. However, it may be used only once in each of the museums. The card is valid for a period of 12 months and costs EUR 7.66.
