Ca's Xorc, between Soller and Deià
Author: Anothertravelguide.com0 COMMENTS

As a place of lodging, Ca's Xorc is a destination in itself. It is housed in a historical, 18th-century Mallorcan country house (finca) that once contained an olive oil press, and has now been decorated with antiques from that era. Although it could be said that the hotel is located in the middle of nowhere - in this case, in the mountains between Soller un Deià - it is actually close enough to everywhere. Enclosed by a colourful garden and olive and citrus trees, and with spectacular views of misty mountaintops and the inky Mediterranean Sea, you feel as though you've discovered a tiny part of the Garden of Eden. Spend a few days here doing absolutely nothing except taking in the scenery; not even photographs can capture the place's beauty - only a painting could (possibly). The hotel has just twelve simply decorated rooms containing nothing superfluous, but everything one could possibly need. Also on site is a swimming pool situated among hundred-year-old olive trees, and a gourmet restaurant that is renown throughout the area - it's worth stopping here for a meal even if you don't plan on staying the night.
