El Balear, Puerto de Sóller

With yachts gently bobbing up and down on a backdrop of the Serra De Tramuntana Mountains, Puerto de Sóller is one of Mallorca's most beautiful harbour villages. All village life takes place along the promenade, which is packed full of cafés and restaurants. On a small side-street right off of the promenade you'll find ls Balear - a seafood restaurant held in esteem by both tourists and locals alike. Tables are set out right on the side-walk, alongside the street. All of the usual traditional Spanish seafood dishes are on offer, as well as a substantial fish platter. There are no gastronomic surprises here, and everything is fresh and not at all expensive. We must mention that the quality of preparation here has tended to vary from one visit to the next, so keep in mind that this is a place that you will remember as being either a great dining experience, or just a mediocre one - it all depends on the luck of the draw. If you happen to live in the area, El Balear is definitely one of the best choices for a dinner out.
