The underground Museum of Medieval Stockholm, part of the City Museum, was constructed around an archaeological excavation site - a fact which adds a unique aura to its permanent exhibition, helping the visitors embark on a „time travel" to the Middle Ages. The reconstructed brick buildings and warehouses, workshops, the harbour and gallows reflect the life and growth of the city between 1250 and 1520. The museum also often hosts themes exhibitions.
