Tekniska museet / National Museum of Science and Technology

Founded in 1923, Sweden's largest science museum holds a collection of 55 thousand objects, as well as countless documents, drawings, photographs and books. Displays dedicated to inventions, experiments and science present an overview of the historical development of science and technology. The exhibits include steam engines, mining technologies, airplanes, automobiles, locomotives, as well as the first telephones and computers. The vast museum is housed in a 1936 Functionalist building designed by the Swedish architect Ragnar Hjorth.
