Barbier-Mueller Museum

The private collections of two of the most prominent Swiss art collectors, Josef Mueller and Jean-Paul Barbier, are united under the roof of the Barbier-Mueller Museum. Both collections, created in the early 1900s, comprise both works of antique art and objects of the so-called primitive art hailing from different corners of the world: Africa, Asia, Oceania. The museum's holdings include some seven thousand different items: masks, tools, weapons, cult objects, sculptures, ornaments, textiles, etc.
