The Barbican Centre

Author: Anothertravelguide.com0 COMMENTS

This is the largest multi-art centre in Europe; each year is started here with a presentation of a new programme encompassing all forms of visual arts, theatre, dance, classical and contemporary music and cinema. Barbican is well known for its festivals and regularly holds almost invariably critically acclaimed art exhibitions. The centre also offers a wide repertory of theatre productions with guest performances by British and foreign theatre companies. The founder and owner of the Barbican Centre is the City of London; it was opened in 1982 and proclaimed the city's gift to the nation.
