St. Martin's Lane

A former office building dating back to 1970s. From the outside - nothing to write home about, pretty much like the Ļeņingrada restaurant we used have in Riga. Inside - an interior by Philippe Starck, the enfant terrible of French design monkeying around with "gold teeth" and dwarf-like stools: sit on a dwarf's head and feel like Alice in Wonderland. The 1960s, chess pieces, retro radio sets combined with the ultimate minimalism. A vodka bar with mirrors. The rooms can hardly be described as large but they will do for a few days stay - particularly if you will follow your mood and abandon yourself to the play of coloured lights personally designed by Starck to match the interior of each room. St Martin's Lane also hosts the Asia de Cuba, a time-tried value among the London restaurants.

Price: from GBP 295 for a double room.
