Bentley's Oyster Bar & Grill
Author: Anothertravelguide.com0 COMMENTS

Bentley's Oyster Bar has been an institution since 1916, when respectable English gentlemen gathered for their evening soirées in its Victorian interior. In 2007, the faded splendour gained a new life when well-known Irish chef Richard Corrigan stepped onto the London restaurant stage. Those who wish to take their meals in a reserved atmosphere of bygone glory can head upstairs to the Grill, Rib and Crustacea rooms, with their William Morris wallpaper. However, the real action takes place at the marble bar on the ground floor. Bentley's Oyster Bar offers excellent fish and seafood dishes, but its main specialty is, of course, oysters - both wild-caught and farm-raised - of superb quality and able to satisfy the widest assortment of tastes. For an exotic delight, try the Scallops Vietnamese Style. As befits a respectable establishment, the wait-staff is dressed in suitably formal attire, and Bentley's high service standards ensure that any exchange with your waiter will be a pleasant experience. The walls of the restaurant are covered with hunting trophies and zoological motifs, scenes from life in the jungle and historical photographs from Bentley's former glory days.
