Metropolitan Museum of Art

One the most famous museums in the world, alongside the Paris Louvre and Madrid Prado, visited by over five million people a year - a place you have to see at least once in your lifetime. The Metropolitan Museum's art collection comprises more than two million exhibits from 5000 years of art history.
The ideal time for a visit to the Met is Friday and Saturday evenings from 6 pm to 8 pm when cocktails are served at the balcony tables of the main entrance hall and a string quartet is providing live musical background. In summer the roof terrace is open and offers a breathtaking view of the New York landscape: skyscrapers and Central Park.
