Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum

This is the museum that once irreversibly changed the existing concept of art exhibiting - and of what is or isn't art. The building, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, in which visitors move upwards spiral-wise (taking a look inside the permanent collection rooms, placed like little pockets at each turn of the spiral, while viewing the current exhibition), has long since become an icon of the art world. It has also been captured by Matthew Barney in his Cremaster cycle of films. The Guggenheim Museum has hosted exhibitions by many well-known personalities of international art and design: Lucio Fontana, Bill Viola, Zaha Hadid and others.
