The Back Room

The Back Room

The Back Room is housed in historic premises of an "undercover" bar, dating back to the prohibition era of 1920 to 1933.
At the street side, there is no indication whatsoever that would lead to think that there is a bar. Yet being informed about this place, you just have to say hello to the doorman and step down to the courtyard. There you'll see clothes-lines with hanging laundry and four staircases - still no sign of the bar. Just go ahead and pick the farthest one of them!
The Back Room features Victorian style décor with paintings and chandeliers, velvet-clad furniture and a fire-place. The most amazing feature is its reference to the bygone ban of alcohol, which is still served in tea and coffee cups, like in those days when any booze had to be cautiously hidden!
