Bocca and Bonaparte

Bocca

A superb Italian restaurant sited in the very heart of Tallinn Old Town. Bocca (a mouth in Italian) is one of the finest restaurants in Tallinn, set up in an ancient, 500 years old warehouse. Its high ceiling, denuded brick walls and medieval vaults perform a subtle interplay with a contemporary minimalism - huge designer lamps, large windows, amazing lighting and tasteful asceticism. Everything is absolutely perfect, at the same time - so warm and cozy. A waiter, staying almost unnoticeable, does a fabulous job, too. Gracious, courteous service and excellent cuisine! Black spaghetti, grilled lamb and ice-cream à la Bocca - yummy! And who knows - ordering a game bird, you may find a real shot pellet in it... Bocca offers a delicious meal in a pleasant, homely atmosphere. Moreover, instead of wine, you may order a glass of beer, if you wish - it is quite popular there, too.
Prices, although not modest, are not skyrocketing either. Bocca, without doubt, is worth travelling to Tallinn, yet it is advisable to make bookings ahead.

Bonaparte

Traditional French cuisine, silver plates and nose-tingling, rich butter aroma distinguish this place. Bonaparte, housed in one of the Old Town's most historic buildings, comprises a restaurant, a café, a bakery and a pastry shop. An excellent spot both for treating one's taste buds and feasting one's eyes - light, white meringue cake with green marzipan and red currants, small shortbread cakes filed with savory cream, strawberries and custards, hand-made chocolate truffles, praline and exclusive Bonaparte ice-cream. Tempting foodies and sweet-addicts, a counter of the Deli shop brims over with appetizing cakes, tarts, sorbets, fruit pies - everything looking so delicious.
Enticing aromas lure to enter Bonaparte café, as well. An easy atmosphere makes it just perfect to have a light breakfast with friends, brows a newspaper or work on your laptop. Crisp salads, sandwiches, soups, canapé and croissants - everything is available for take-out as well.
None the less outstanding is the restaurant. It features a mix of classical French values and novel gastronomic tendencies, and the very best French wines.
