Soma Bay is a coastal resort on the Red Sea just about 45 kilometers from Hurghada. One may be skeptical towards Egypt's resorts, yet beauty of its bays and beaches is undeniable. Clear waters and constant wind provides ideal conditions for diving, kiting and windsurfing. Moreover, it is hot and there is no fear that a sudden rain will dampen your otherwise perfect day. According to my experience, a great place to stay is Sheraton Soma Bay hotel. Live as a sheikh there, no fret whatsoever! Excellent breakfast in the morning and off you go to the beach! As to windsurfing gear - it's either available for rent, is included in a hotel offer or you can bring along your own. There is a good golf course not far from the hotel and a hotel's shuttle-bus will take you there. Another positive aspect is an excellent communication - apart from Air Baltic direct flights Riga-Hurghada also charter flights are available.
