Kitzbühel, located just 80 km from Salzburg, with eight and a half thousand population is one of the oldest ski resorts in Austria. It has large variety of long slopes, yet it happens that snow cover is not as deep as one might find someplace else. Nevertheless, snow is not the only reason making this Tyrol district, rich in traditions, worth visiting. Believe me or not, there you can have a meal with cows peacefully chewing almost next to your table, behind a stall window. And, indeed, a small Bio-Hotel Stanglwirt restaurant is set up in a former cowshed but don't worry - everything is impeccably clean now. Bio-HotelStanglwirt, located just 10 minutes drive from the town, in the midst of fabulous alpine scenery, is well known to everybody, having some knowledge of winter resorts. Grown from a roadside guest-house, the hotel possesses rustic charm and is built entirely from natural materials. Moreover, it features all the modern amenities you would expect of a first class destination. A fantastic indoor-outdoor swimming pool is created in several levels, formed from robust rocks. At someplace water splashes down from several meters height and artificial caves lead to a small wooden hut - an old-times Austrian sauna, equipped with all the modern fittings.
