An ideal destination for romantically-minded people! Just a single road, cut through the rocks, leads to Lech and hardly anybody knows how old it is. Maybe that's why Lech has escaped crowds of tourists and long lines at chairlifts. Slopes are not many, yet connected with the ones of the nearby St. Anton resort, just 30 minutes drive from Lech. The two hamlets together with Zürs, Oberlech and some others satellite villages form an enormous Ski Arlberg resort (www.skiarlberg.com). Lech pistes are long and exclusively well groomed. Moreover, if you look for peace and quiet, you will enjoy it abundantly there. Even the nights are wonderful, with zillion of stars doting the sky - scenery much favored by Prince Charles as well. Choice of hotels is quite limited, yet a true skiing enthusiast for sure will choose Hotel Kristberg , run by the former Olympic champion Egon Zimmerman.
