Globe Bookstore and Café

Globe Bookstore and Café

Opened in 1993, the Globe Bookstore/Cafe is a real old-timer of the post-socialist space. A favourite hang-out spot among ex-pats and anglophiles, it is ideally suited for exchanging news of the literary and publishing world over a cup of good coffee or even a glass of wine. In some quarters, the Globe kitchen has even been praised as the best in Prague, despite the somewhat limited menu. The browser-friendly shelves display the most comprehensive English language second-hand book collection in Central and Eastern Europe; that's not to say that fresh publications are not available here. Globe also hosts an extensive programme of talks and various events.
