After enjoying warm-water seas, most diving enthusiasts have to return to their home countries in much milder latitudes. Those who have tried diving near Panga Cliff of the Estonian island of Saaremaa would strongly disagree that there is nothing special about diving in the Baltic Sea. Panga Cliff, located on the northern shore of Saaremaa, is the highest one of the Saaremaa and Muhu cliffs, reaching a height of 21.3 m and extending for 2.5 km. The local diving club organizes tours to another, underwater cliff, located deeper in the sea and forming an almost perfect semicircular shape. These fantastic white rock formations, sited progressively deeper and deeper in the sea offer a wonderful insight in underwater geology. Saaremaa is famous for its population of grey seals and offers plenty of possibilities of shallow diving or snorkeling together with those playful animals. Seals are very inquisitive - they come closer, quickly retreat and even try to grab your swim fin, inviting to play with them. Aside from the excellent diving experience, there are other attractions on Saaremaa Island as well, e.g., Kaali Meteorite crater with a small lake in the middle and relaxing Saaremaa spas.
