EUROPA PANTHEON

Author: Tabita Sīmane0 COMMENTS

EUROPA PANTHEON

Europa Pantheon, the oldest still-functioning film theatre in Paris, opened in 1907. Following the era of the silent movies, it was the first Parisian cinema to focus on English-language pictures (a bold move, considering the fact that subtitles were not used at the time). 1990 saw the old theatre undergo a proper reconstruction, getting back its original 'old fashioned' design. The cinema's avant-garde and art house programme mostly attracts students from the nearby Sorbonne.
