Blue Spa

Author: Dina Vjatere0 COMMENTS

Spa - a gathering place of a stylish crowd of the city? Yes, why not - and the Blue Spa of the Bavarian citadel Munich has earns this a status. Yet, all the visitors feel equally welcomed there, although, this is not an oasis of peace at all. People love it because the Blue Spa has an extra feature, making a little hustle, characteristic to this place, insignificant. It is its fabulous panoramic view of dalle roofs and church-peaks of Munich, seen from any spot you might be - swimming in the pool, lounging on the terrace, practicing yoga or enjoying a meal at a spa-bar and even from a Shiatsu mattress, before a practitioner's hands lead you into another dimension.
The Blue Spa is crowning the legendary Hotel Bayerischer Hof, built in 1841 for guests of the king Ludwig I. The spa, however, was built two years ago thanks to a seven million Euros investment and a creative genius of French star architect and designer Andrée Putman. It fully matches the ancient building and its minimalism pleasantly contrasts with the magnificent scenery around. In summer glass roofing, covering the swimming pool, is removed and part of spa life can bubble on open-air terraces. In cold season terraces transform into a winter gardens, offering warmth of a real fireplace or a swim 570 meters above the sea level and the Munich's roofs . You can choose also among three saunas - steam, a bio-sauna or a regular one - all three are excellent. The spa features a darkened relaxation parlor with five coaches for deep meditation and a real slumber. Here you can master powernap (a short restful sleep, helping to relax ones body and mind), although, it takes 3 to 5 sessions under the trainer's guidance. At the Blue Spa you are welcome at a very special bar - its motto goes - „Perhaps this is the first bar ever, where upon leaving you feel much healthier then upon arriving." Salads are gorgeous here - tasty and healthy. It offers also grilled fish and variety of health cocktails - with a drop of alcohol too. Bayerisher Hof prides itself in almost 200 years of hosting experience - and the spa personnel have inherited these skills, too. The Blue Spa makes you feel like a guest of the King Ludwig himself.
