DMagazine is one of the most legendary - and also most desirable - of Milan outlets, if only thanks to its location within the so-called Golden Triangle of shopping, Via Montenapoleone. A more central situation in Milan would be next to impossible to find; besides, those not-in-the-know tend to miss it for the simple reason that the very heart of luxury shopping is hardly the most logical of places to go looking for an outlet. The shop is rather on the small side, jam-packed with things (from last season's collections) and people. If you hope to find something genuinely valuable, you may have to get through a lot of stuff and be prepared for the ever-present queue outside the changing room. All the loudest names in Italian fashion are well represented, from Prada and Miu Miu to Dolce&Gabbana and Gucci; the Belgians and the Japanese (Ann Demeulemeester, Comme des Garçons, etc.) are also here. The discounts range on average from 50 to 70 per cent of the original retail price. It is so easy to succumb to the temptation, especially considering the outrageously vulgar price policy of the surrounding boutiques. Besides, the location of DMagazine (unlike most other outlets) will happily see to it that you won't regret wasting your time, should you happen to leave with empty hands.
