Spīķeri it is like a small yet prolific island for art theorists seeking for knowledge and a stimulating place for their research work.
Kim? Contemporary Art Centre's library is an appealing address for researchers in the field of art theory, design and architecture. It offers a wide variety of materials, starting from theoretical works to artists' albums and manifestos, and art curators and artists are among its frequent visitors. Its reading room is available for free every day from 12:00 to 18:00 and its coworkers will help you navigate through its bookshelves. Even though it may not be the most suitable solution for doing your work on daily basis, it can definitely provide the required information and workspace with free wi-fi for completion of a particular task or study that you are working on. A specialized library is available also at the premises of the nearby RIXC Media Space at 12 Maskava Street, which runs an open media library or so called Mediatheque. It is a media lounge that offers books, magazines, video and audio archive on media art and digital technology culture. Its opening hours are quite limited, however - Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 14:00 to 17:00.
