Pepper Mango is a small chocolate concept shop, resembling a jewellery box on Amsterdam's Rozengracht Street, which is saturated with a variety of colourful little shops. Pepper Mango's motto, in large letters on the wall, has been borrowed from Forrest Gump - "Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know, what you're gonna get." Along with many other niche gourmet chocolate brands, one can also find Centho Chocolate at Pepper Mango. It was established in 2002 by one of the eight best Belgian chocolate virtuosos - Geert Decoster and his wife. Last year, his appetizingly striped chocolate praline Fragola won the silver medal in the Belgian chocolate world's awards for the Best Belgian Chocolate 2012. Its taste is addictive, but you'd better not ask what goes into it! Geert Decoster claims that the filling must never overwhelm the taste of the chocolate itself, which - just like in the case of wine - is influenced by the place where the cacao beans were grown. A chocolate is really only great when the customer admits that he likes it, but has absolutely no idea what went into the filling. Centho Chocolate is also concerned about the origin of its cacao beans and uses only those that conform to Fairtrade traditions. The packaging is no less enticing - three different sized filigree boxes, which can also serve as great presents.
